C-R-T WILL PRODUCE "ANDY SMITHSON"
C-R-T obtains the audio rights to a new young
adult book series! We are happy to announce that we will be producing
the new book ANDY SMITHSON- Blast of the Dragon's Fury, Book 1, by
L.R.W. Lee. As far as Andy Smithson knows, he is a more-or-less
ordinary 10-year-old boy, neglected by his overachieving parents and
annoyed by his pampered older sister. What he doesn't know is that he is
also the latest in a line of rulers of the land of Oomaldee and the one
destined to save that kingdom from a curse put on it 500 years before
Andy's birth. Andy is magically pulled into Oomaldee while washing
dishes one evening, and the adventure begins--an adventure that includes
fire-breathing dragons, a lisping wizard, flying horses, people-eating
giants, and many new and delightful friends. Production will be begin
in 2014. MJ Elliott will be dramatizing the book. You can read the book on Amazon!

SINK ME! WE'RE RE-RELEASING THE PIRATES!
These haven't been available for a while! In 1997 we produced two short stories based on New England Pirates - Dixie Bull, and William Fly. These are "golden oldies" by CRT standards, having been produced 17 years ago - but they are a lot of fun from our early days!

BEACON HILL wraps production
On Thursday we finished our 16th episode of BEACON HILL, closing out the season. A long production summer (most of it during a heat wave) with this series that had its premiere on Sirius XM Dec. 30th 2012. The episodes are now in post production and we plan to release Series 3 (Eps 9-12) in October, and series 4 (Eps 13-16) shortly after; alas, with the demise of Book Radio on XM, they will premiere as downloads - not broadcast.
The cast gathered at the end of the session on Aug. 8th for a photo. Pictured, L-R front row: Emily Elizabeth (Marietta Prescott), Victoria Portsmore (Lady Jessica), Shana Dirik (Jocelyn Prescott), Rebecca Klein (Lucille), Joshua Lees (Nathan Collins), Ronni Marshak (Lady Burden), Cynthia Pape Augusta Prescott), Diane Capen (Miss Logan), Barbara Dempsey-West (Mrs. Jennings). Back row: James Tallach (Williams), Craig Spaner (Lord Burden), Michael Laferriere (Trevor Burden), Ethan Butler (Andrew Prescott). Cast members missing from the shot include Jerry Robbins, Nolan Murphy, Natalie Vatcher, and Colin Budzyna.

This'nThat
Busy week; wrote four new episodes of POWDER RIVER in the past week - each in one sitting, just like the old days (of course, the one sitting lasted about 16 or 20 hours, depending on the show) - but the words and scenes just flowed out; which I am sure is because the characters are so well defined after all the episodes we've done, that their actions just happen naturally now. I remember struggling through seasons 1 and 2, and even 3 and 4 were a chore at times ... but so far, now in season 8 - it's just moving along with no issues.
I think it's because after completing 16 scripts for our drama, BEACON HILL, which were 70 pages each, with multiple sub-plots, completing a 35 page POWDER RIVER script is, in comparison, is a walk in the country!
Feeling productive at the moment! So, since last week, wrote
THE LAW AND HIS SON Part 1
THE LAW AND HIS SON Part 2 (in one sitting!)
MRS. OCTAVIA HUDSON (in one sitting!)
THE HAPPY TIMES (in one sitting)
Only three scripts to go for this season. I am not writing all this to brag - far from it. I'm just happy that after having some very difficult slumps on the POWDER RIVER series, that suddenly everything is humming along. The scripts may be lousy for all I know; the point I'm trying to make is, they didn't cost me my nervous system to finish them. So far I've written 111 POWDER RIVER episodes! Clearmont, WY has never been so busy! I wonder if we have any listeners in Clearmont?
Wed. night I had a pick up session for BEACON HILL, recording scenes in Episodes 11 and 12 that I couldn't get when we recorded them in June.
Tonight, we have our final recording session for BEACON HILL, as we are on our 16th episode. Not sure if we're coming back - at the moment I would say no, but we'll see how the series goes over with everyone.
Thats all for now!

WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS
ANDREW TIGHE stars as Lieut. William Duffy, in the WW1 actioner WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS. 1915 France. The Great War rages and a new breed of hero take to the skies. Part bull-terrier, part daredevil, the aces of the Royal Flying Corps' 5th Squadron are Britain's elite. It was an era of counter-intelligence, dogfights and drinking songs. But that was before the world changed. That was before the Elementals. When a routine mission goes awry, the 5th Squadron finds itself trapped in an unreal world called The Source. Here giant bat-like creatures dominate the world keeping the Universe, and all of its parallel realities, in a precarious balance. But despite its serene appearance, it is a violent, predatory land. Trapped along with Germany's greatest flying ace, they all must work together to find a way back home. But the home they left is no longer the world they knew.
Andrew Tighe is the star of CRT'S Tom Corbett - Space Cadett, and the just released Tom Corbett - Danger in Deep Space. He is joined by fellow Corbett co-stars Mark Thurner and Mark McGillivray in War Of The Elementals.
CRT's WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS is a co-production with Bluewater Productions, is now in production for a 2014 release.

Keeping busy
Saturday I started and finished a new episode of POWDER RIVER, called THE LAW AND HIS SON, Part 2 (also finished 4 pages on Part 1). Wrote this for James McLean who will be leaving the show as he goes to college. We'll miss him - started with us in season 3 with the episode called THE WAGON BOY.
Then today I started and finished another PR episode, FROM THE ASHES WILL RISE. Didn't plan on writing it in a day, but that's how it is sometimes. Very happy with the story - just hope it seems as good when I look it over before sending it to the cast
In a few hours I have a photo shoot for the cover art of THE WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS. Most of it is done, we need to have our pilot in the picture!
Thursday we record Episode 15 of BEACON HILL. We have such a great cast in this one. New episodes will be out this fall. We started work back on May 15th, and we wrap on Aug. 8th.
Need to line up photo shoots for JERRY AND THE PIRATES and THE NEW DIBBLE SHOW, as all of those episodes will be released onto Amazon, iTunes and Audible very soon!
Thats all for today. Cheers from Boston -JR
