Getting ready to roll out new programs this Spring and Summer

As our 17th Season continues, we are excited about some new productions that are getting ready for release this spring and summer.
First out the door is the continuation of our western series, POWDER RIVER. 30 new episodes have been recorded, and they begin airing on March 9th on Sirius XM. 15 eps will run thru June, making up season 5. Season 6 begins Oct.5th.

(Season 7 of POWDER RIVER begins production this spring.)

VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS - Vol. 3, includes another "Dr. Phibes" story with The Seven Lives Of Dr. Phibes, as well as The Effigy, Trapped, and The Best In The Universe. This is becoming a popular series, and these new tales of terror will be released March 6th.

WRATH OF THE TITANS will be released on March 30th - same day as the movie! We are currently running this program on our Sirius XM show in episodic format, but to hear it in all its stereo unedited glory, check out the CD or DL!

TOM CORBETT-SPACE CADET is a fun production! Based on the Bluewater Comic from 2009, it's an exciting story with a great cast, and sparkling post production work by Seth Adam Sher. Release Date is May 16th.

RETURN TO TREASURE ISLAND is a new story by Gareth Tilley, based on the characters created by Robert Louis Stevenson. Anastas Varinos returns as Jim Hawkins, and Joseph Zamparelli once again becomes Long John Silver, in this swashbuckling tale we first aired as a special on Sirius XM last Thanksgiving. Release Date is June 11th.

ALLAN QUATERMAIN AND THE LORD OF LOCUST. One of CRT's most successful releases has been KING SOLOMON'S MINES. In this action-packed sequel, Based on the exciting Bluewater Comic by Clay and Susan Griffith, Allan Quatermain journeys deep into the unexplored, mysterious forests of equatorial Africa to repay a debt of honor and avenge a wrong. He encounters the dangerous Lord of Locusts, Bwana Nzige, a slaver from Zanzibar. Release Date is July 9th.

TICONDEROGA is an exciting adventure set during the French and Indian War. Ticonderoga tells the story of Captain William Taylor and his Mohawk scout Degadawidah who are charged to escort Captain Carlton Campbell of the 42nd Highlanders through the dangerous lands of the Huron to Fort Edward, where the British are making plans to march on the French held Ticonderoga. Release Date is July 9th

JARREM LEE - GHOST HUNTER Vol. 2 will bow on July 9th with four new chilling and thrilling adventures, including The Disappearance of James Jephcot, The Terror of Crabtree Cottage, The Haunting of Private Wilkinson, and The Mystery of Grange Manor. Release Date is also July 9th.

And in-between these new productions we will be releasing some golden oldies, and more recent but not quite brand new productions on the Brilliance label, many of them for the first time on CD, including THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE, THE ALAMO, OLD IRONSIDES, LITTLE BIG HORN, THE FATHER BROWN MYSTERIES Vol. 4, POWDER RIVER Seasons 3 and 4.

TOM CORBETT CLOSE TO TOUCHDOWN

Seth reports that he is on the final scene for our summer release of TOM CORBETT - SPACE CADET! As I mentioned before, this is a very exciting show, and the cast is headed by CRT newcomers Andrew Tighe and Mark McGillivray. Mark Thurner rounds out the lead cast, and they are supported by J.T. Turner and Leigh Berry. We hope to sneak preview the show next weekend, and the release date is May 16th. It will run on our Sirius XM show this summer as well.

RETURN TO OZ

In 2000, we produced dramatizations of the first 5 OZ books by L. Frank Baum; THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ, THE MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ, OZMA OF OZ, DOROTHY AND THE WIZARD IN OZ, and THE ROAD OZ. They were originally released in a 10-cassette boxed set called THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF OZ. We won the Parents Choice Award for that release, and Rochelle Gorman of the Boston Globe named it as one of the 10 Best Audio Books of the year.
Now, 12 years later, we will be releasing our 6th OZ story as we continue the series with THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ. The release date will be in December. MJ Cogburn is in post production.
We will soon begin work on THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ. The script is completed and it's just a matter of scheduling the session. Shana Dirik will be playing "Scraps," the "Patchwork Girl," and I know she's going to be incredibly funny in the role.

We had a great recording session for DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, and the show is in the can and awaits editing. Fantastic cast and an awesome script by Gareth Tilley made it easy. We're excited about this one! Release date is Oct. 5th.

TOM CORBETT - SPACE CADET should be completed by the end of next weekend. This production is a lot of fun and will be released May 16th. It's a throwback to the classic 50's show, but has a modern touch to it, and energetic performances from our three leads, Andrew Tighe, Mark Thurner, and Mark McGillivray.

Also nearing completion is our production ALLAN QUATERMAIN AND THE LORD OF LOCUSTS. Theo Mordey is doing an incredible edit on this production.

Lots of other cool projects in the docket that we can't talk about yet as well.

This week we have the DL and CD release of JARREM LEE - GHOST HUNTER, Vol. 1, THE RIVALS, and POWDER RIVER - SEASON 2.

Quick random thoughts on some reviews

Doing my usual Saturday of cruising the internet for CRT items;found an interesting review on Audible for PERRY MASON AND THE CASE OF THE LUCKY LEGS. Some of these reviews (like this one) have mentioned we are doing PERRY MASON with no courtroom scene, and it seems to tick them off. Not all of the early books HAD a courtroom scene. We are not changing the content or story of these original Gardner books. Most of our MASON reviews have been very positive, and some have some had constructive criticism,while others are just downright nasty because we do not have Raymond Burr (sorry folks, Raymond will not be coming down for breakfast).

Also noticed one site that had recently given POWDER RIVER a rave review (comparing it to Bonanza) decided to re-write the review and fundamentally pan the show all around - including calling me an Eastern Greenhorn LOL. Okay, I think we did something to piss this guy off , so he changes his reviews and now we basically suck and have no idea what we are doing. They're out there, folks (as Jerry Williams used to say)!

PERRY MASON and FATHER BROWN are our two most popular titles, and there is another amazing FR. BROWN review where they complain the shows are so short, he heard an entire episode while waiting at a traffic light! That is one L-o-n-g traffic light! We don't have an episode under 30minutes (well, there might be one around 28min), so I feel so bad that this guy is waiting a half hour for a green light. UNLESS his CD is skipping to the last track and he doesn't know it :)
Then there is the FATHER BROWN critic who gave us one star because he couldn't hear the show while driving with his top down. Not to mention an OZ review that gave us 1 star because there was music in the show! They're out there, folks!

I'm not complaining that these people didnt like our shows - hell, even I dont like some of our shows; I just mention them here because I thought they were kind of funny.

TOM SWIFT RETURNS

Back in 2007 we recorded TOM SWIFT AND HIS MOTORCYCLE, the first of the classic books by Victor Appleton. The show was not released, nor did we complete editing as the results were not what we had hoped for. Now, the show will be re-cast and it is going back into production! Isaac Bean (The Prince and the Pauper, Powder River) has been cast as the boy inventor, and Lincoln Clark as his father. The show will be produced in grand style and we hope see a release in the fall.

Recording this month will be DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, as well as LOGAN'S RUN - AFTERMATH, with Tom Berry back in the role of Logan, and Kate DeSisto as Jessica. Also on schedule for the microphones are two more episodes of JEEVES AND WOOSTER, and new episodes of THE FATHER BROWN MYSTERIES.

POWDER RIVER SEASON 6 has wrapped production, and we begin Season 7 late Spring.

POWDER RIVER SEASON 6 WRAPS - JEKYLL POURS A FORMULA

We just wrapped production on season 6 of POWDER RIVER - with 15 new episodes in the can and going into post production. Season 6 will begin on October 4th, 2012 on Sirius XM. We have recorded 30 new episodes since June.
In just a few weeks we record DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, from a script by Gareth Tilley. This will be our 2012 Halloween offering with an Oct. 1 release date.

My first post of 2012!? I didn't think it had been so long since I've been here! Been VERY busy in pre-production with THE STAR ANGEL - a full length holiday musical that is set to be released Nov. 5th. We have started recording on some of the songs, while Jeff still has a couple to write - but we're on schedule. We're going to start recording in February, and it will take a few sessions. I think our listeners are going to be quite surprised with this one.

MOONFLEET, SHILOH, and TOBY TYLER have been released on CD and DL this month, with WRATH OF THE TITANS, JARREM LEE, and POWDER RIVER SEASON 2 following in February!

TOM CORBETT - SPACE CADET, THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ, ALLAN QUATERMAIN AND THE LORD OF THE LOCUST, SPIRIT RADIO, and PAWNS are all in post production and will be released very soon.

POWDER RIVER wraps up recording Season 6 this coming week. It's been fun re-visiting Clearmont, WY, and I managed to write 30 scripts in 6 months! We'll begin recording Season 7 in late spring. It's been fun to see the show mentioned on some Wyoming Tourism sites, and sites about Clearmont!
